Corporate AccountingThis position will support AWG's financial reporting department in various aspects including researching and analyzing financials at the Corporate and subsidiary level, assisting with budgeting and quarterly forecasting, accurately preparing and processing weekly and period end journal entries, completing account reconciliations, and assisting with day-to-day duties of the Fixed Asset/Lease Senior Accountant.
This position will be required to work closely with other areas in the company including corporate department heads and subsidiary personnel.
Position
Responsibilities:
Accurately prepare and process journal entries on a weekly and period end basisResearch and analyze financials for all subsidiaries and assigned Corporate departments.
Work closely with appropriate Corporate and subsidiary personnel in understanding significant variances to budget.
Complete account reconciliations in a timely manner Assist with budgeting and quarterly forecasting for Corporate departments and all subsidiariesApprove vouchers and expense reports in a timely mannerAssist Fixed Asset/Lease Senior Accountant in day-to-day duties including asset disposals, tracking and paying real estate and personal property tax, tracking leases within Lease Query database for ASC842 compliance and reporting, preparing and processing standard journal entries related to fixed assets and leases, and preparing fleet compliance filingsCross-train within the department to gain a well-rounded knowledge of each role and be able to act as backup for other team members Other duties and projects as assignedSkills/
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in AccountingExcellent organizational skills and attention to detail, ability to prioritize and work independently.
Effective verbal & written communication skills.
High-level proficiency in Excel with knowledge of PeopleSoft preferred.
Working knowledge of SAGE/FAS fixed asset software is helpful.
Working knowledge of Lease Query or other ASC842 software helpfulAble to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentAbility to grow and advance with the company; openness to relocation with advancement a plusAssociated Wholesale Grocers, Inc.
